In 2023, middle school students learned the basics of Computer Animated Design (CAD) and 3D printing. These skills were put to the test on the final day of the camp as the students launched rockets they designed and printed.
High school students focused on Arduino coding to make their own healthcare inspired sensors, worked with RCC healthcare educators to learn how medical grade devices work, and had a visit from VCU Health’s LifeEvac helicopter!
Each summer RCC hosts free STEM camps—one for middle school students and one for high school students.

Health Science Explorers Camp 2024 for High School Students
June 24 through June 28 at RCC Glenns campus
July 15 through July 19 at RCC Warsaw campus
9 am to 12:30 pm
High school students interested in exploring health careers will learn from local health professionals through hands-on instruction and visits to community practices. Topics covered are nursing, diagnostic medical sonography (DMS), physical therapy, dental, and emergency medical services (EMS).
Application opens May 1 at 10 am. Ten spots available for each camp.
