Programs and Services

Parenting Students

OCATS offers two programs for low-income residents throughout the region who are parenting. After you meet with a career coach to assess your strengths, needs, and eligibility, we will connect you to the services and supports that best fit your career goals and aspirations.

CHAMPS (Career Help and Mentoring for Parenting Students)

  • Student leadership and internship opportunities
  • Peer-to-peer mentoring
  • Comprehensive career and job coaching

LIFE (Legacy. Independence. Family. Empowerment.)

  • Education and career assessment and planning
  • Education assessments (Abilities-GAIN/TABE)
  • Career assessments (VA Wizard, Myers-Briggs/STRONG Inventory)
  • Life skills, including budgeting, time management, study skills, conflict resolution
  • Work readiness, including job search, resume/cover letter writing, soft skills training, social media for employment
  • Technology training, including keyboarding, applications, online learning

Adult Education
