Power-Up: (Providing Opportunities through Work, Education and Resources to Upend Poverty) is an eligibility-based program targeted to TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) recipients and low-income individuals through a local Department of Social Services.

The program focuses on helping with education, training, and employment readiness. Services can include:

  • Education Assessments (Abilities-GAIN/TABE)
  • Career Assessments (VA Wizard, Myers-Briggs/STRONG Inventory)
  • Life Skills, including budgeting, time management, study skills, conflict resolution
  • Work Readiness, including job search, resume/cover letter writing, soft skills training, social media for employment
  • Technology Training, including keyboarding, applications, online learning
