AHEC Mission

Rappahannock AHEC’s mission is to recruit, train and retain health professionals and build a pathway for continuing education opportunities. Rappahannock AHEC at Rappahannock Community College (RCC) will connect students to careers, professionals to communities, and communities to better health.

Stacie Wind
AHEC Program Manager

Rappahannock AHEC serves 16 counties in Virginia to improve access to and promote quality health care through education and collaborative partners at the local, state, federal, and private organizational levels.

The Center’s primary priorities are to:

  1. Increase diversity among health professions.
  2. Support multi-disciplinary/multi-professional training for practicing professionals and students in health career preparation academic programs.
  3. Improve distribution, recruitment, and training of diverse health professionals in rural and underserved communities.
  4. Eliminate health disparities due to rurality, poverty, race, and culture.

The Center is a resource to assist individuals interested in health careers and the preparation for admission and program completion.
