Rappahannock Community College’s Dr. Shauna Lewis Earns Doctorate in Higher Education Administration
Rappahannock Community College (RCC) is proud to announce that Dr. Shauna Lewis, Coordinator of Student Success, has earned her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education Administration: Educational Leadership from Liberty University.
Dr. Lewis brings a broad and deeply student-centered background to her work at RCC. Her professional experience spans both K–12 special education and higher education leadership, with roles in teaching, program management, and student support services. Throughout her career, she has focused on helping diverse student populations overcome obstacles and achieve their academic goals. In addition to her newly earned doctorate, she holds a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration, a Master of Arts in Special Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Special Education.
Dr. Lewis joined RCC in August 2023. As Coordinator of Student Success, she leads the development and implementation of RCC’s comprehensive one-door onboarding, academic advising, and student retention efforts. Her work plays a key role in the college’s broader strategy to strengthen student recruitment, enhance engagement, and support the successful completion of degrees, certificates, and workforce credentials.
“I am committed to guiding students through their educational journey by removing barriers and providing them with the resources to excel both in and out of the classroom,” said Lewis.
