RCC Goals for Student Achievement

RCC Goals for and Outcomes of Student Achievement (2025-27) 

The goals support the college mission, the strategic plan 2025-2027 (SP), the VCCS strategic plan “Accelerate Opportunity (AO)”, and the VCCS Presidential Evaluation (PE). The results are analyzed and discussed annually with yearly improvement objectives implemented as needed.

I. Reaching More RCC Service Region Residents

  1. Increase the number of working age students enrolled to 830 in 2026-27 (AO 2.4) (PE) Baseline: 2023-24 799 VCCS goal for RCC 877 by 2029-30
  2. Increase annual percentage of program-placed students applying for financial aid to 68% by 2026-2027. (SP G1 and G3) (AO 4.1) Baseline: 2023-24 64% VCCS goal for RCC 75% by 2029-30
  3. Increase Financial Aid for FastForward (FANTIC) application completion to 22% by 2026-27 (SP G1) (AO 4.2) Baseline:  2023-24 20 VCCS goal for RCC 24 by 2029-30
  4. Increase the annual number of students enrolled in Fast Forward to 228 by 2026-27. (AO 2.2) (PE) Baseline: 2023-24 204 VCCS goal for RCC 263 by 2029-30.
  5. Increase institutional scholarships awarded to 900 for student use in 2026-2027. Baseline: 2023-24 711

II. College Success

  1. The number of degrees, certificates and credentials awarded is at least 870 in 2026-27 (PE).  Baseline: 2023-24 Actual 1,030 (based on credit (817) and Fast Forward ( 213) ), VCCS goal for RCC yearly target 870
  2. The number of credentials awarded to dual and concurrently enrolled students prior to high school graduation is 957 in 2026-27. (SP G1) (AO 1.1) Baseline: 2023-24 712 VCCS goal 1,324 by 2029- 30

  3. Increase the percentage of RCC graduates who achieve upward mobility to 54% by 2026-27 (SP G2 and G3) (AO 1.6) Baseline: 2023-24, 52%; VCCS goal for RCC 50% by 2029-30
