VA-1 Congressional Meet and Greet

Rappahannock Community College will host meet and greet sessions with the two candidates for Virginia’s First Congressional District.
Republican Incumbent, Rob Wittman, answered questions and spoke on the issues on Monday, September 28.
Democratic Challenger, Qasim Rashid, answered questions and spoke on the issues on Wednesday, October 7.
Both events were moderated by Matthew Brent, PhD, Professor of History, Rappahannock Community College.
About Rob Wittman
Rob was elected to serve the First Congressional District of Virginia in December 2007 and his top priority has been the constituents of the First District. You can find him driving back and forth from Montross to Washington when Congress is in session and traveling throughout the district to meet and listen to his constituents on how best to serve them. Rob is committed to getting things done. From rebuilding our Navy to increasing access to broadband, to making sure our children have a 21st-century education, he is constantly working for the First District.
About Qasim Rashid
Qasim Rashid is a human rights lawyer who has dedicated his life to support women who are survivors of domestic and sexual violence, serve children from vulnerable communities, and fight for the rights of persecuted Christians and Jews. Qasim is running to transform his advocacy for human rights into results for the working families of Virginia’s First District.
