Students whose goal is a nursing career now have another option at Rappahannock Community College.
The Pre-Practical Nursing career studies certificate is designed to offer enough nursing-related courses that those who complete the certificate; meet all other health, background, and academic qualifications; and complete a nurse aide bridge course can proceed directly to the second semester of the Practical Nursing certificate.
As well as being an option for on-campus students, this certificate is available as part of RCC’s dual enrollment program for high school students.
Surveys of RCC students over the past year have indicated great interest in the practical nursing program. In response, the college offers a solid pathway to this goal through its educational pathway from nurse aide or pre-practical nursing to practical nursing to associate-degree nursing.
