New Industrial Manufacturing lab comes to Glenns

Professor Tom Danaher

RCC Engineering professor Tom Danaher shows off just some of the training equipment in the new manufacturing training lab at the Glenns Campus.

Manufacturing industries give a community a chance to grow and sustain a higher standard of living, especially in a rural community such as the region which Rappahannock Community College (RCC) serves.

RCC now has a state-of-the-art manufacturing training lab at our Glenns Campus, and Workforce Development now offers a series of classes designed to give the next generation of manufacturing workers the training they need.

These courses include instruction on hydraulics, pneumatics, process control, and automation.

This program will provide training opportunities for those interested in pursuing employment and careers in advanced manufacturing both inside and outside of our service region.

Representatives from local employers including WestRock, Potomac Supply Inc., Canon Virginia Inc., Purina Nestle in King William and other smaller companies report that over 300 skilled workers will be needed within the region before the end of 2019.
