As one of Virginia’s twenty-three community colleges, RCC is approved by the Virginia State Board for Community Colleges. The college’s two associate degrees — Arts and Sciences and Applied Science — are approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).

The Rappahannock Community College Paramedic Career Studies Certificate program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
