That’s what this degree will prepare you for. If you want to make a change in the world, then you need to enroll right now. The Psychology/Social Work transfer degree program is designed to prepare you for the world of psychology, sociology or related fields.
This program will enable you to transfer and become a Psychology or Sociology major at approximately 40 partner four-year schools in Virginia.

The Psychology/Social Work transfer degree will prepare you for a career in psychology or social work. The program takes four semesters (two years) and will give you many of the prerequisites required to transfer into a program at a four-year school.
You will take the core classes, such as English, math, physical education and others that are required for transfer.
Getting Started at RCC:
- Apply online or in person.
- Have your official high school transcripts sent to RCC to see if you can use your high school grades to substitute for a placement test. If you need to take a placement test, Placement tests cost $5 and scores are good for two years. Call a counselor at 804-758-6730 (Glenns Campus) or 804-333-6730 for more information.
- Complete your Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) and add RCC School Code 009160
- Meet with a counselor to review your placement test scores and register for class.
