Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts employment of Nursing Assistants to grow about 18 percent. This is largely due to the aging baby boomer population, which will increase demand for patient care.
Professional Caregiver
Our Nurse Aid Career Studies Certificate will train you for full-time employment as a Nursing Assistant. By enrolling in our program, you’ll learn the skills needed to assist with nursing care in nursing homes, hospitals, and supervised home-care situations.

Additional Notes
In this program, you’ll take the following courses — “Home Health Aide” and “Nurse Aide I” along with an elective. You’ll working with a member of the nursing faculty to determine the best fit for you for the elective.
Getting Started at RCC:
- Apply online or in person.
- Have your official high school transcripts sent to RCC to see if you can use your high school grades to substitute for a placement test. If you need to take a placement test, Placement tests cost $5 and scores are good for two years. Call a counselor at 804-758-6730 (Glenns Campus) or 804-333-6730 for more information.
- Complete your Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) and add RCC School Code 009160
- Meet with a counselor to review your placement test scores and register for class.
