Are you planning to attend college, but don’t have a specific school or major in mind? Start with our General Education Certificate, which assigns you to an academic advisor who will help you to explore possible careers. Completing the General Educucation Certificate is a great first step on your way to an associate degree in your chosen field.

The General Education Certificate spans over two semesters and is made up of 11 classes and 33 credits. Thanks to the flexible design of this program, most colleges will accept these classes as part of your first-year requirements.

How to Apply
Getting Started at RCC:
- Apply online or in person.
- Have your official high school transcripts sent to RCC to see if you can use your high school grades to substitute for a placement test. If you need to take a placement test, Placement tests cost $5 and scores are good for two years. Call a counselor at 804-758-6730 (Glenns Campus) or 804-333-6730 for more information.
- Complete your Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) and add RCC School Code 009160
- Meet with a counselor to review your placement test scores and register for class.
Program Cost
Starting in the Fall 2018 semester, classes will cost $160.65 per credit hour
