Keeping computers safe has become a full-time job. Luckily, RCC now offers Basic Networking and Cybersecurity, which can prepare you to get into the networking and information systems fields.

We’ll get you into the networking world quickly with classes like “Intro to Information Systems” and “Intro Routing and Switching-Cisco.” You’ll learn from faculty who have real-world experience and are equipped to share their knowledge.

Nuts and Bolts

The Basic Networking and Cybersecurity Career Studies Certificate is made up of four (or five) classes, and can be earned with a minimum of 12 credits. With this certificate, you’ll be able to jump into the role of network specialist, network technician, and network administrator.

How to Apply

Getting Started at RCC:

Apply online or in person.
Have your official high school transcripts sent to RCC to see if you can use your high school grades to substitute for a placement test. If you need to take a placement test, Placement tests cost $5 and scores are good for two years. Call a counselor at 804-758-6730 (Glenns Campus) or 804-333-6730 for more information.
Complete your Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) and add RCC School Code 009160
Meet with a counselor to review your placement test scores and register for class.

Program Cost

Starting in the Fall 2018 semester, classes will cost $160.65 per credit hour
