- ACCESS to HIGH QUALITY EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES
GOAL 1 – CONNECTIONS –
Increase RCC Fall admissions applications by 3% in Fall 2018 over Fall 2016.
Results: Goal not met. Applications decreased by 28%.
GOAL 2 – ENTRY: AFFORDABILITY-
Increase institutional scholarships awarded.
Result: Goal met in 2017-18. 68 more scholarships awarded.
GOAL 3 – ENTRY: ADMISSION YIELD
Increase RCC application to enrollment yield to 55% in Fall 2018.
Result: Goal not met. Yield was 48%.
GOAL 4 – ENTRY: ENROLLMENT –
Increase full time, program-enrolled student participation.
Result: In 2017-18, Goal met. Headcount increased 4.0% and FTE increased 7.8%.
GOAL 5 – ENTRY: PENETRATION –
Increase enrollment penetration rates in Service Region Counties.
Result: Overall goal not met in Fall 2018. Penetration rate down 0.8%.
GOAL 6 – ENTRY:
Developmental Education- Decrease the number of students in developmental education.
Result: Goal met in Developmental Math. 21.4% fewer students. Goal met in Developmental English. 2 less students to only 21 students.
GOAL 7 – ENTRY:
Developmental Education Success – Increase Dev Ed student completion of college level Math and English. Percentage success above VCCS percentage.
Result: Goal met in Developmental Math at 19% above VCCS percentage. Goal met in Developmental English at 12% above VCCS percentage.
II. SUCCESS as LEARNERS
GOAL 1 – PROGRESSION: RETENTION FALL TO SPRING –
Increase Fall to Spring retention rate.
Result: Goal not met. Fall 2018 to Spring 2019 retention of 70% was down 1%.
GOAL 2 – PROGRESSION: RETENTION FALL TO FALL –
Increase Fall to Fall retention rate.
Result: Goal not met. Fall 2017 to Fall 2018 retention 53% was down 1%.
GOAL 3 – PROGRESSION: COLLEGE READY SUCCESS–
Increase the number of FTIC college-ready students earning completing a college-level math and/or English course within 3 semesters of first enrollment. Target percentage above VCCS percentage.
Result: Goal met. Mathematics completion 14% above VCCS. English completion 4% above VCCS.
GOAL 4 – PROGRESSION: CREDITS EARNED –
Increase the percentage of FTIC students earning 12 credits in one year and 24 credits in two years. Target is 64% for 12 credits and the percentage above VCCS percentage for 24 credits
Result: 12 credits goal was not met at 59%. 24 credits goal was met at 7% above VCCS.
GOAL 5 – PROGRESSION: COURSE COMPLETION/SUCCESS –
Increase course completion and success rates of nondual students.
Result: Goal partially met. Fall 2018 completion rate 91% up 2% and success rate 72%, same as Fall 2017
GOAL 6 – COMPLETION: AWARDS –
Increase graduates in all programs.
Result: Goal met. There were 203 more awards in 2017-18
GOAL 7 – COMPLETION: TRANSFER –
Increase the success rate of transfer students. Target above VCCS rate.
Result: Goal not met. 61% of those who transferred with 16 or more credits hours earned a bachelor’s degree within 6 years from initial enrollment at RCC. 4% below the VCCS rate of 65%
GOAL 8 – COMPLETION: Graduation Rates-
Increase student completion rates. Target above iPEDS comparison rate.
Result: Goal met. 36% for 150% of time Fulltime/Firsttime cohort. 11% above comparison group.
III. SUCCESS as EMPLOYEES
GOAL 1 – EMPLOYMENT PREPARATION:
Nursing -Increase Student Licensure Rates. Target above national mean for ADN and 85% or greater for PN
Result: Goal met in 2018 for both ADN (97%) and PN (94%)
GOAL 2 – EMPLOYMENT PREPARATION:
Increase industry recognized certifications over FY17.
Result: Goal met 117 more certifications in FY18.
IV. SUCCESS as CITIZENS
GOAL 1 – Student preparation in General Education Skills –
RCC General Education Assessment. Target 80% of students score 60% or higher.
Result: Goal met in 2018 overall. 80% scored at or above 60%
GOAL 2 – Student preparation in General Education Skills –
General Education Graduate Survey Results. Target-Students rate their General Education competency a 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Result: Goal met. All seven Gen Ed areas above 3.5 in 2018.
