2017- 18 RCC GOALS for and OUTCOMES of STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT

I. ACCESS to HIGH QUALITY EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES
GOAL 1 – CONNECTIONS –
Increase RCC Fall admissions applications by 2% in 2016 over Fall 2014.
Results: Goal met. Applications increased by 5%.
GOAL 2 – ENTRY: AFFORDABILITY-
Increase institutional scholarships awarded.
Result: Goal met in 2016-17. 9 more scholarships awarded.
GOAL 3 – ENTRY: ADMISSION YIELD
Increase RCC application to enrollment yield by 2% in 2016 over Fall 2014.
Result: Goal not met. Yield decreased by 10%.
GOAL 4 – ENTRY: ENROLLMENT –
Increase full time, program-enrolled student participation. (Percentage of Headcount and FTE increases above VCCS increases).
Result: In 2016-17 Goal partially met. Headcount decreased 0.8% and FTE increased 0.6%. Both were 5% better than VCCS.
GOAL 5 – ENTRY: PENETRATION –
Increase enrollment penetration rates in Service Region Counties.
Result: Overall goal met in Fall 2016. Penetration rate up 3.7%.
GOAL 6 – ENTRY:
Developmental Education- Decrease the number of students in developmental education.
Result: Goal met in Developmental Math. 1% less students. Goal met in Developmental English. 5% less students.
GOAL 7 – ENTRY:
Developmental Education Success – Increase Dev Ed student completion of college level Math and English. Percentage success above VCCS percentage.
Result: Goal met in Developmental Math at 12% above VCCS percentage. Goal met in Developmental English at 2% above VCCS percentage.
II.SUCCESS as LEARNERS
GOAL 1 – PROGRESSION: RETENTION FALL TO SPRING –
Increase Fall to Spring retention rate.
Result: Goal not met. Fall 2015 to Spring 2016 retention of 67% was down 2%.
GOAL 2 – PROGRESSION: RETENTION FALL TO FALL –
Increase Fall to Fall retention rate.
Result: Goal not met. Fall 2015 to Fall 2016 retention 43% was down 2%.
GOAL 3 – PROGRESSION: COLLEGE-READY STUDENT SUCCESS IN MATH AND ENGLISH
College Ready Student Success – Increase CR student completion of college level Math and English. Percentage success above VCCS percentage.
Result: Goal met in Math at 17% above VCCS percentage. Goal met in English at 5% above VCCS percentage.
GOAL 4 – PROGRESSION: CREDITS EARNED –
Increase the percentage of First Time in College (FTIC) students earning 12 credits in one year and 24 credits in two years. Target percentage above VCCS percentage.
Result: Goal met. 12 credits was 61% 8% above RCC target and above VCCS. %. 24 credits was 46% 1% above VCCS %.
GOAL 5 – PROGRESSION: COURSE COMPLETION/SUCCESS –
Increase course completion and success rates.
Result: Goal partially met. Fall completion rate 91% up 1%. Fall success rate 72% down 1%.
GOAL 6 – COMPLETION: AWARDS –
Increase graduates in all programs by 5% over 2014-15.
Result: Goal met. Awards up 24% in 2016-17 over 2014-15.
GOAL 7 – COMPLETION: INDUSTRY CERTIFICATIONS –
Increase the number of industry certifications and licenses for which the college obtains evidence of completion by 30% in FY17
Result: Goal was met. RCC increased 44%.
GOAL8 – COMPLETION: TRANSFER –
Increase the success rate of transfer students. Target above VCCS rate.
Result: Goal not met. 64% of those who transferred with 16 or more credits hours earned a bachelor’s degree within 6 years from initial enrollment at RCC. 1% below the VCCS rate of 65%
GOAL 9 – COMPLETION: GRADUATION RATES-
Increase student completion rates. Target above iPEDS comparison rate.
Result: Goal met. 30% for 200% of time Fulltime/Firsttime cohort.4% above comparison group.
III. SUCCESS as EMPLOYEES
GOAL 1 – EMPLOYMENT PREPARATION:
Nursing -Increase Student Licensure Rates.
Result: Goal met for both ADN (100%) and PN (100%)
GOAL 2 – EMPLOYMENT PREPARATION:
Wages – Improve Student Preparation for Careers. Target above VCCS.
Result: Goal met 66% employed 1 year post completion of AAS degree, 16% above VCCS.
IV.SUCCESS as CITIZENS
GOAL 1 – Student preparation in General Education Skills –
RCC General Education Assessment. Target 80% of students score 60% or higher.
Result: Goal met overall. 84% scored at or above 60%
GOAL 2 – Student preparation in General Education Skills –
General Education Graduate Survey Results. Target-Students rate their General Education competency a 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Result: Goal met. All seven Gen Ed areas above 3.5.
