Earn an American Boating and Yacht Council Credential RCC as part of the Marine League of Schools offers the ABYC Technician Certification Program. The ABYC Technician Certification program was developed to improve the quality of boat maintenance, manufacture, and repair as well as promoting professionalism within the recreational marine industry. This program is designed to provide standards-based, technical education for marine technicians throughout the marine industry. This program leads to improved customer satisfaction with boat maintenance and repair. In turn that leads to increased profits that result in better trained more effective marine technicians. The ABYC Marine Technician Certification Program is designed for the mid to high level experienced technician. The program places strong emphasis on trouble shooting and analysis in accordance with ABYC standards and generally accepted industry practices. The program consists of eight courses covering important technical areas such as Marine Electrical Systems, A/C and Refrigeration, Diesel Engines, Gasoline Engines, Marine Corrosion, and Composite Boat Building. Those who successfully complete each course and pass a nationally accredited certification exam will receive a certificate, a uniform patch, and a listing in ABYC’s online Certified Technician Directory. Those who complete two or more courses and pass the nationally accredited exam for each will also become an ABYC Master Certified Marine Technician.
