Welcome to RCC Adult Education!
The Adult Education Program is open to individuals 18 years and older who want to improve their basic math, reading, and writing skills to get a job, pass the college entrance exam, or get a GED credential. The program offers:
- Adult Basic Education Classes
- English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes
- Fast Track Classes (11-week class that provides a refresher and helps students get a GED credential in an abbreviated amount of time. Enrollment is based on student pretest scores.)
The RCC Regional Adult Education Program serves the counties of Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland, and the Town of Colonial Beach. (Students 16 and 17 can enroll if they have been released from compulsory attendance.)
All students must attend a registration workshop before beginning class. The 3-hour workshop includes a program orientation, completion of paperwork, and pretesting. There is a $35 program fee which includes a workbook and all classes for the year. To receive information on registration workshop times and locations or to sign up, please contact the Adult Education Office at (804)333-6829.
Adult Education Program students may also qualify for other RCC programs such as Youth Services and Middle College. Those eligible for the Youth Services Program can receive assistance with college tuition and books, transportation to classes and childcare. Students 18-24 years of age may also qualify for additional services through the Middle College Program.
