In Memoriam
Life is complicated… simplicity is golden! – Lisa Harper’s last FaceBook status posting.
The SSS family has suffered a great loss. On Wednesday, September 8th we lost one of our program’s success stories and supporters, Lisa Harper, to a very tragic turn of events. Lisa was a former SSS program participant, RCC and College of William & Mary graduate, mother of three and our SSS Office Assistant for 4 years. She recently began a new position at RCC in the Glenns library. Lisa will always be remembered on campus for her creative bulletin boards and fliers, quick energy, obsessive picture taking, love of history and strong belief in the mission of the SSS program and value of education. Please honor her memory by continuing to pursue higher education with a standard of excellence, remaining steadfast towards your goals and dreams, and finding and fulfilling your passion in life. That’s what she did!
Something else that Lisa did a lot of was use FaceBook. You could always find a funny or poignant posting from her, daily. If you would like to express your condolences please feel free to post to our RCC FaceBook site or Lisa’s wall. Your thoughts will warm the hearts of her family and show the significant impact that her life and energy had on this community.
Lisa was a unique thread in the fabric of the RCC community. She sowed a special place in our organization and hearts for 8 years as a student, employee, and supporter. We, the SSS family and RCC community at large, will miss her dearly.
