Friends of the Library was formed to promote the following objectives:
- To provide financial assistance beyond that which is provided in the state budget.
- To assist in the handling of gifts to the Library Center.
- To promote awareness of the Library Center as a community lending library.
- To offer cultural programs for the benefit of the entire community.
- To place a special emphasis on developing a collection of children's books and encouraging its use.
Gifts to the Friends of the Library will support both the academic and public funds of the Library Center with a goal of strengthening collections and services overall.
Members receive Friends of the Library newsletters, the membership directory, and special invitations to all activities.
Members form a vibrant group sharing interest in books and reading and supporting a vital community resource.
