RCC featured at Career Open House

At a February 28 Career Open House sponsored by Bridging Communities Regional Career and Technical Center, Rappahannock Community College nursing faculty and students gave demonstrations of emergency medical care and general nursing techniques, as well as leading discussions of RCC’s four nursing programs: associate-degree nursing (leading to licensure as a registered nurse), practical nursing, nurse aide, and emergency medical services.

Pictured are scenes from the demonstrations and discussions, in which a number of area high school students participated. At left is Charles Smith, RCC’s dean of health sciences. “The Bridging Communities Open House allowed RCC’s faculty, staff, and students to promote all of the health sciences programs offered by the college—and it was a great success!” says Smith. “The hands-on demonstrations allowed the nursing students who participated to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in a professional setting.”
