RCC faculty adds banking expert

A new addition to Rappahannock Community College’s adjunct faculty is Robert Leibowitz, who brings 14 years of wholesale and retail lending experience as well as nearly 33 years in bank supervision with the Federal Reserve System to his Spring 2013 classes: “Principles of Management” and “Communication in Management.”

“As an adjunct member of the RCC faculty, I hope to help students enhance and enlarge their perspectives on banking, management of various types of businesses and appropriate forms of communications within those firms,” says Leibowitz. “My goal would be to guide students in a direction where they can use their education to succeed professionally and personally.”

Leibowitz holds the degrees of bachelor of arts in management, and master of business administration. During his tenure with the Federal Reserve he managed the agency’s educational system for examiners, and considers his educational management positions an important part of his professional experience as well as good preparation for his new position at RCC.

Born in Baltimore, Leibowitz was a resident of Northern Virginia until he retired and moved to Hartfield in Middlesex County. He and his wife of nearly forty years, Gail, have two adult children and three grandchildren. Currently Leibowitz is a member of the Board of Management of the Middlesex Family YMCA, and a volunteer lacrosse coach at Ware Academy near Gloucester. He formerly coached high school lacrosse, including the 1997 Virginia State Champion Boys Lacrosse team.
