RCC delegation visits General Assembly
On Thursday, January 25, students from Rappahannock Community College’s Glenns Campus traveled to a session of the General Assembly in Richmond, where they spoke with Delegate Keith Hodges of Virginia’s 98th District, and state senator Richard Stuart (28th District). Those making the trip were Kristina Blevins, Darielle Krueger, and Kaylamarie Franklin of Gloucester County, Jeremy Schultz of Mathews County, and Jane Spencer of Lancaster County. The students were accompanied by RCC president Dr. Elizabeth Crowther, dean of college advancement Victor Clough, and history professor John Paden.
Students from all over the state observe the legislature’s Community College Days every year by taking part in these trips. The purpose, as well as promoting the legislative goals of the Virginia Community College System, is to remind legislators of the importance of Virginia’s community colleges in providing for the critical needs of the Commonwealth and its citizens.
