RCC celebrates new site during King William Open House

On Tuesday, August 27, King William High School held an Open House at which was announced the launching of a new off-campus site for Rappahannock Community College. Pictured are King William student Nick Pleasants (left) and RCC career coach Nic’ole Conaway. Ms. Conaway and Dean Taylor, RCC’s student activities coordinator, explained the variety of educational options that RCC offers to area students, both before and after high school graduation. Also attending were RCC’s vice president of instruction and student development, Dr. Donna Alexander, and Warsaw Campus academic dean Patricia Mullins.

“We were very pleased to be invited to be a part of the King William High School Open House,” says Mullins. “The King William public schools and Rappahannock Community College have long been partners in providing college classes for high school students through the dual enrollment program. Tonight’s event provided RCC an opportunity to speak with students and parents about the college and its dual enrollment opportunities. Also, we have been able to share information about our newest initiative with King William Public Schools—an evening program offering various classes that are open to all students in the college’s service region.”

The new site at King William brings the number of RCC satellite sites to three (in addition to King George High School and the Kilmarnock Center). It will operate on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, offering such subjects as English composition, United States history, mathematics, and computer classes. For more information about these evening classes, please call the Warsaw Campus Welcome Center at 804-333-6730.
