JMU Grad joins RCC Library staff
Tychier, or Ty, as she prefers to be called, is a graduate of James Madison University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders. Hailing from Heathsville, Ty’s relationship with this community is personal and extensive. When not roaming the stacks, or providing reference assistance at the circulation desk, Ty can be found at the Northern Neck Family YMCA in Kilmarnock, where she provides a variety of services.
Ty is also a bit of a foodie, being an avid home cooker. When recounting her first attempt at a cake, she conjures images of a flour covered kitchen, with broken eggs strewn across a kitchen table as if the entire cartoon had exploded, leaving scattered bits of shell, gooey yolk, and rivulets of whole milk issuing forth from a spilled carton. “I’ve come a long way,” she laughs.
She’s excited to work in the Library where she can help students with their research and cultivating ideas. “I’ve definitely been there” she says, shaking her head emphatically.
Her future goals include earning Graduate Degrees – notice the plural, and further developing her role as someone who provides an important service to the community.
