EVB Makes Donation to RCC Library

In order to help public libraries “advance their role as centers for education and learning,” Eastern Virginia Bankshares (EVB) has recently donated some 20 new computer systems to area libraries. One of these was Rappahannock Community College’s Glenns Campus Learning Resource Center, which gladly accepted a wide-screen PC that will allow more of its patrons to pursue Internet research or other academic goals. “This brand-new computer will fit right in with the current renovation plans for the college and the library,” says RCC dean of learning resources Cherie Carl. “It is wonderful to have the opportunity to partner with local businesses like EVB who support the educational efforts of our students here at RCC.”

“For the past 100 years, giving back to the community has always been one of the most important values in our company,” said Joe Shearin, president and CEO of EVB. “Whether we’re helping our customers make sound financial decisions, or donating computers to public libraries, we want to give our friends and neighbors the tools they need to succeed.”
