Reserves FAQ’s

What are reserve materials?
Materials faculty have identified as required or supplemental in support of the course work.

What kinds of materials can I place on the faculty course reserves shelf in the library?
Materials such as textbooks, articles, DVDs, and even test tubes may be placed on the faculty course reserves shelf.

Where is the faculty course reserves shelf located?
Behind the academic service desk at both libraries.

How long can reserve items be checked out ?
Faculty may request the loan period be overnight, two hour, three day, one week, or semester long.

Do items automatically remain on the reserve shelf each semester?
No. When you place an item on reserve, you will indicate the length of time the item should remain on the reserve shelf. The library staff will automatically remove an item from the shelf unless you choose to renew the time period. If the materials belong to you personally, they will be returned.  If the library has purchased them, they may be added to the regular circulating collection.

How do I place an item on reserve?
Go to the Library’s Faculty Resources page and fill out the Faculty Reserves Request Form. Print the form out and bring it with you when you submit the item to the library. Please submit items 2 weeks before you need them on your reserve shelf.

Is there a complete list of all items currently on reserve?
Yes! Check out the Library’s Faculty Resources page and click on the Complete List of Reserve Items.
