Administrative and Office Specialist III (position #00018)

Rappahannock Community College seeks an individual to serve as administrative and office specialist III for Workforce and Community Development primarily on the Glenns Campus.

Duties include clerical support for the vice president of Workforce and Community Development and trainers, including: typing contracts, and payrolls; setting up courses and reports; scheduling course schedules; registering training participants; compiling evaluation summaries; and maintaining files.  Generates, formulates and disseminates reports and certificates.

Qualifications Required:  graduation with an Associate’s Degree or higher from accredited college or university or an equivalent amount of related occupational experience; demonstrated strong customer service skills; excellent computer and math skills;  ability to use MS Office 2007, Access, and Excel;  demonstrated ability in data gathering, data entry, database creation and management and record retention. Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary.  Must be detail oriented, self-directed, and strong in organizational skills.    Must have a demonstrated ability to successfully function in a team environment with good interpersonal skills working with a diverse population. 

Qualifications Preferred:  experience in conference and workshop planning; Familiarity with local business and industry.

Pay band 3 classified position with excellent benefits package.  Salary range:  $23,999 - $36,627.

Part-time Electronics Instructor

Rappahannock Community College’s Glenns campus seeks a qualified part-time electronics instructor for the spring 2010 semester.  Interested candidates must be available to teach morning classes, Monday – Friday, approximately March 29 – June 11.

Position requirements: bachelor’s degree in electronics or related field or associate degree with related occupational experience; teaching experience preferred.

Adjunct Faculty Needed

Rappahannock Community College seeks qualified part-time instructors in the following areas for spring 2010 semester:

Transfer (Both campuses):

Communication studies/public speaking, English, biology, microcomputer applications and concepts, psychology, sociology.  Position requirements: master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline; teaching experience preferred. 

Developmental Studies (Warsaw Campus):

English and Math.  Position requirements: bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the teaching assignment, teaching/occupational experience or graduate training; master’s degree preferred. 

Career: 

Nursing.  Position requirements: BSN, RN license; master’s degree preferred (Glenns and Warsaw). 

Electronics instructor. Position requirements: bachelor’s degree in electronics or related field; teaching experience preferred (Glenns).  

Electrical wiring instructor. Position requirements: high school diploma, journeyman electrician certification; considerable work experience; master electrician certification and teaching experience preferred (Glenns). 

Technical Drafting.  Position requirements: bachelor’s degree in drafting or related field; teaching experience preferred; position requires knowledge of and experience using AutoCAD Inventor (Glenns).  Highest degree must be from a regionally accredited institution.
