Student Information System (SIS)

Access the Student Information System directly. You will need your EmplID number not your myRCC username to login.

The Student Information System (SIS) is a web based self-service database that students may use to access their RCC records. Students can access the SIS from any computer that has Internet access.The SIS allows students to access their personal student information, access class schedule information, enroll and drop classes, pay for classes using Visa or MasterCard, obtain final grades, request transcripts, review and track degree progress, check financial aid awards and more, all online.

Log In

Start your web browser. Be sure that you are using a current browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. In the browser address box type http://www.rappahannock.edu.

Click on the myRCC button.

The RCC log in page will be displayed. Enter your username and password. Click the Log In button.

myRCC Window

My Username. Your username is your new single sign on name for RCC services. This is not your student ID (emplid) number. The first time you log in click on the Look up your username link and follow the instructions.

My Password. If you have previously used Blackboard or student email, use your current password. If you are new to RCC, click on “New to your college? Look up your username and set your password“. You will need to know your first name, last name, date of birth (MMDDYY) and social security number to look up your information. When completing the online form you must match exactly what you used when you filled out your RCC admissions application. New passwords must be between seven and ten characters in length, must contain at least one number and one uppercase letter.

For help with your password click on the I cannot access my account link. If you changed your password and can’t remember the answer to your security question, please send an email to rcchelp@rappahannock.edu to have your password reset to your date of birth. The first time you log in, after your password is reset, you will immediately be redirected to the Change Password page.

The welcome page will be displayed. To access the SIS, click on the VCCS SIS: Student Information System link.

User Preferences

Set your user preferences to RCC. This is very important if you are or have been a student at multiple Virginia Community Colleges. If you have trouble paying tuition online be sure that your user preferences are set to RCC.

Click on Self Service.

Click on Student Center.

The Student Center will be displayed. Scroll down to the Personal Information section.

Click on the User Preferences link toward the bottom of the page.

The User Preferences page will be displayed.

  • Click on the Institution box and select Rappahannock Community College.
  • Click the Academic Career box and select Credit.
  • Enter the Term code. (Click on the lookup icon lookup icon to get a list of terms to choose from)
  • Enter the Aid Year. (Click on the lookup icon lookup icon to get a list of years to choose from)
Select User Preferences

Click the Save button.

The Confirmation Dialog box will be displayed.Click the OK button to confirm preferences.

Grade Report

RCC does not mail grade reports. The online grade report may be viewed and printed.

Log in to myRCC and click on VCCS SIS: Student Information System.

  1. Click on the Student Center link.
  2. Click on the Grades link.
  3. Select the desired Term to view your grades.

To print your grade report:

  1. Click on the Printer Friendly Version button at the bottom of the page.
  2. Click the Print icon on the browser’s button bar.

Academic Advisor

Find out the name of your advisor and their email address.

Log in to myRCC and click on VCCS SIS: Student Information System.

  1. Click on Student Center.
  2. The Advisor box on located on the right side of the screen.
  3. Click on Details to view advisor information.

Pay Tuition & Fees Online

Log in to myRCC and click on VCCS SIS: Student Information System.

  1. Click Student Center.
  2. Scroll down to the Finances section and click the make a payment link.
  3. Click the Make a Payment tab.
  4. Enter the First and Last Name exactly as it appears on the credit card.
  5. Enter your Credit Card information. Do not use dashes.
  6. Verify your address. Click the edit address link to update.
  7. Click the Next button.
  8. Click the pay charges button. RCC does not accept partial payments.
  9. Click the Next button under payment summary.
  10. View the Confirm Payment page. Make changes if necessary using the Change Payment Amount button or the Change Payment Details button.
  11. Click the Submit button.
  12. Click the View Confirmed Payment button to view and print payment confirmation. This confirms whether your payment has been accepted. Be sure to WRITE down or print your reference number for your records.

To print: Click the Print icon on the browser’s button bar.

Class Search

Log in to myRCC and click on VCCS SIS: Student Information System.

  1. Click Student Center.
  2. Click the Search for Classes button.
  3. Select Rappahannock Community College from the Institution drop down list. Click on the lookup icon lookup icon to get a list to choose from.
  4. Select the Term code. Click on the lookup icon lookup icon to get a list of terms to choose from.
  5. Click the Go button.
  6. Enter course prefix and catalog number.
  7. Click the Search button.

Official Transcript

A student may request an official transcript of his/her record to be sent to other educational institutions or agencies. An official transcript carries the college seal and the signature of the Admissions and Records Officer. There is no fee for sending transcripts.

Log in to myRCC and click on VCCS SIS: Student Information System.

  1. Click on Student Center.
  2. Click the arrow button next to the other academic….. box and choose Official Transcript from the drop down list.
  3. Click the Go button.
  4. Click on the Select Option drop down box and choose the appropriate option for issuing your transcript.
  5. Enter the quantity of transcripts you wish to be sent.
  6. Complete Recipient Address Information. To enter college or business address click the Edit Address link.
  7. Click the OK button.
  8. Click the Submit button.

Student Class Schedule

A student may view or print a copy of their class schedule for the semester using the online SIS. Students are required to have their class schedule with them at the first class meeting.

Log in to myRCC and click on VCCS SIS: Student Information System.

  1. Click on Student Center.
  2. Click on My Class Schedule link.
  3. Click on the desired Term and click the Continue button.

To print the schedule — click on the Print icon on your browser’s button bar.

Unofficial Transcript

A student may view and print a copy of their unofficial transcript using the online SIS.

Log in to myRCC and click on VCCS SIS: Student Information System.

  1. Click on Student Center.Unofficial Transcript
  2. Click the arrow button next to the other academic….. box and choose Unofficial Transcript from the drop down list.
  3. Click the Go Go button button.
  4. Select Rappahannock Community College for Academic Institution.
  5. Select Unofficial Transcript for Report Type.
  6. Click the Go button.

To print the transcript — click on the Print icon on your browser’s button bar.

RCC Online Catalog

Log in to myRCC and click on VCCS SIS: Student Information System.

  1. Click on Student Center.
  2. Click the Search for Classes button.
  3. Click the Browse Catalog radio button.
  4. Select Rappahannock Community College from the Institution drop down list. Click on the lookup icon lookup icon to get a list to choose from.
  5. Select the Term code. Click on the lookup icon lookup icon to get a list of terms to choose from.
  6. Click the Go button.

Log Out

Click on the Sign Out link located in the upper right hand corner of the SIS page.

It is extremely important that you sign out when you are finished.

Sessions will time out after an idle period of 20 minutes. You will need your username and password to log back in. Be careful not to confuse your username with your user id (emplid).
