Financial Aid Overview

Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the very first step you should take to receive state and federal financial aid. 

Outlined below is information that will help you navigate your financial aid options.

Paying for a quality education should not be a barrier to learning. There is more money available than ever before to help pave your way to a brighter future.

Follow these steps

• Step 1: Complete RCC’s free application for admission
• Step 2: Complete the FAFSA
• Step 3: Check your RCC message Center, To-Do List, and student email often. The Office of Financial Aid and Veterans Services sends financial aid notifications to students via their SIS Student Center, To-Do List, and/or school or personal email address.
• Step 4: Respond to any requests for additional information.
  It is your responsibility to check these regularly and respond promptly if action required on your part to process your financial aid. If you fail to complete any of the to-do items or provide the requested information your financial aid will not be processed.                       
• Step 5: Apply for RCC Scholarships 
• Step 6: Schedule an appointment with your College Navigator to register for classes. 
• Step 7: Pay for your classes

1098-T forms for tax year 2023 will be mailed January 31, 2024. To download a copy please visit https://tra.maximus.com and follow the first-time user instructions. If you had no out-of-pocket expenses for 2023 then you will not receive a 1098-T form. The 1098-T form only applies to tuition and fees. It does not include books or Follettt Access material charges.
