FLO Orientation Summer 2008
Attendance is required for First-Time FLO students! Distance Learning first class meeting is required for online courses.
Distance Learning Orientation sessions for new students and new distance learners is on Monday, May 19 on the Glenns and Warsaw Campuses from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

How to Get Started in a Distance Learning Course
- All distance learning classes start on Monday, May 19. Please make sure to email your instructor to get started in the course. If you do not communicate with your instructor during the first two weeks of class, it is possible you will be dropped from the course. The following courses require your attendance at the college orientation:

- Make sure to login to the myRCC single sign on and get your username and password. You should be able to access Blackboard, student email and the student information system from this location. Students are uploaded to Blackboard courses at least two weeks before the course start date. Each Instructor has until the first day of class to make their courses available for students to view. For directions on how to find your
username, please view the Getting Started brochure.
- Make sure to purchase your book information either at the Distance Learning Orientation or Online before the course start date.
- If you do not attend the Distance Learning Orientation, you will want to view the course syllabus and online course orientation before starting the course. Please visit the syllabi website.(coming soon for SU08)
- FLO instructors are required to make their course available in Blackboard by Monday,May 19. For this reason if you login before May 19 and do not see your course, it could be because the instructor has not made it available for students to view. Please email the RCC helpdesk if you are having problems at rcchelp@rappahannock.edu.
