Bookstore and Student Life

BOOKSTORE

The College bookstore, operated by Follett’s Bookstores, Inc., has locations on both campuses.

Required textbooks (new or used) and supplies may be purchased there, as well as gift items, clothing, etc. Follett’s offers a textbook buy-back service throughout the school year. Beginning in Fall 2010 the bookstore will renting selected textbooks.

A student’s printed class schedule is required when purchasing textbooks on-campus.

Follett’s Bookstore – Refund Policy:

The last day for a full refund is noted on the return policy supplied to each student. After that date, students will have two days after the purchase date.
A receipt is required for a full refund.

No refunds are allowed on purchases made within two days before or during exams.

All textbooks must be in their original condition, or in the shrink-wrap.

BULLETIN BOARDS

Bulletin boards for student use are located at designated areas on both campuses. There are several boards designated for the use of clubs, which contain information about upcoming activities and events.  Bulletin boards for general notices are located in the student lounge area on both campuses. The Student Services Office must approve the designation of bulletin boards for specific use. All flyers, posters, and other promotional material must be initialed or stamped by the Student Services Office before it can be posted. Any flyer not so stamped will be removed. Also, any flyer in a non-designated area will be removed.  Guidelines for posting notices are available in the Student Services Office on both campuses.

STUDENT LOUNGE

Student lounges with vending machines and recreational equipment are located on both campuses, for the use of currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff. Students are expected be respectful of the rights of others at all times.

STUDENT E-MAIL ACCOUNT

Student e-mail accounts are available to all students. All students must use their official RCC e-mail account for correspondence with the college, including interactions between students and faculty.  To access student e-mail accounts, as well as RCC’s other online systems, go to www.rappahannock.edu/myrcc and login to myRCC (logo).

STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE

A list of student accident and health insurance providers is available in the Student Development Office. RCC does not endorse these providers. Information on FAMIS (Family Access to Medical Insurance Security) is also available in the Student Development Office. This program assists working families to secure insurance for their children.

LOST AND FOUND

Report all lost and found articles to the college receptionist. “Found” articles may be claimed at the same office.

LOCKED OUT OF VEHICLE/AUTO PROBLEMS

If keys are accidentally locked inside a vehicle or emergency repair/towing assistance is required, contact the college receptionist, the building and grounds staff, or the administrator on duty.
