Electrician Career Studies Certificate
Length: 13 Credits
Purpose
To offer students with no prior knowledge of electricity or electrical systems the basic theories and practical training necessary for entry to the workforce. The program provides a working understanding of electrical circuits and wiring methods.
Occupational Objectives
Students completing this program will be prepared to enter the workforce as Electrician’s helper. Further experience in this field can lead to apprenticeship and eventual certification as an Electrician. Starting salary for Electrician’s helper ranges from $12 to $25 an hour.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the general admission requirements of the college.
Program Requirements
Students are required to earn a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the curriculum to be awarded the Electrician Career Studies Certificate.
